Earthquake Network is the only earthquake early warning system capable of alerting you before the seismic waves hit most countries of the world. Find out more about the research project at https://www.sismo.app
- Early warnings of earthquakes
- Earthquake reports from users
- Starting with magnitude 0.0, earthquake data from national and international seismic networks
- Voice synthesized earthquake notifications
A smartphone-based earthquake early warning system developed by the Earthquake Network research project detects earthquakes in real time and alerts the population in advance. The accelerometer on every smartphone allows it to detect earthquakes. Users with the application installed are immediately notified when an earthquake is detected. It is possible to alert the population that has not yet been impacted by the damaging waves of the earthquake since earthquake waves travel at a fixed speed (between 5 and 10 km/s). Detailed scientific information about the project can be found at https://bit.ly/2C8B5HI in the Frontiers scientific journal
The information on earthquakes detected by national and international seismic networks is usually delayed between a few minutes and many hours, depending on the seismic network.
